i wish i had more pictures to describe this day. it was really a bad experience for both me and jude. poor jude had somewhat forgotten that we did this every 3 months. when we got to hospital he was all smiley and talky. even when the nurse came to get him he was all happy and ran back to the room. as soon as he walked into the room i think he remembered. it broke my heart. the staff is always really nice and the anesthesiologist even came in singing "hey jude". it didn't help jude much, he didn't want to go. alas, they took him away from me and as i walked past the operating room i could hear him screaming for mama.
about a half an hour later dr. vanderhooft came out to tell me that everything went fine but she increased the frequency of the laser quite a bit. a little while later the nurse came to get me to take me back to my recovering jude. he was SCREAMING! he had a bit of a hard time waking up from GA. i have never seen him like that before. i think it was a combination of the GA and him being in pain. they wouldn't give him any stronger medication and he just kept saying "ouey ouey ouey!". it broke my heart. my mom and rog came with me this time and they kept asking how i do it while he was in surgery. well i don't do it, i cried really hard when he was waking up and in so much pain. my poor baby. the anesthesologist told me that next time we come i will need to come earlier so he can give jude verced, a mediaction that makes you loopy and makes your forget. i think it was hard on everyone.
once we left the hospital he was a little better but not his usual post surgery self. since he hadn't eaten in 12 hours we went to breakfast at Ruth's. he ate a little but mostly sat on my lap and whimpered. my heart is broken for my sweet boy.

Goodness Kennan , I cried just reading this - I can't imagine what it is like for you! You are such a good strong mommy, a lot of parents would just not even attempt the surgery! Just remember he will forever be grateful!
You are both my hero's! Jude looked fantastic last night! I'm glad he's starting to feel a little better at least. Jack needs to play with him.
Our brave, brave boy and his incredibly strong Mommy!! My admiration for you is huge.
XOXO Nannie
Sweet Jude! He is so brave, and so is his mommy!!! Hope everything is going great, I haven't seen you guys forever, but I'm sure he looks fantastic!
Could he be any cuter? Even his sad little grumpy face is cute. He is a very brave boy and we love him lots.
