trevan has talked to me about going to hardware ranch for as long as we have been together. i think its one of his fondest memories from growing up.
hardware ranch is utah's state elk refuge located in hyrum, utah (outside logan). when i called to talk to terri about what they were doing for presidents day and she said they were thinking about going to hardware ranch i knew we were in. it's actually pretty cool. jude and i are both sick with colds and it probably wasn't the best thing for us to do, being outside and all. jude hated waiting in line and kept asking to go home. all and all it was a great time. the best part of the day for me was hitting up the t.j. maxx in logan and getting some more precious baby polo finds for sissy and jude.
jude was excited when we first got there, we all were, until we spotted the line....
yaya, jude, and momo on a walk on the ice. jude kept slipping and saying "whoa, geez!"
another precious find was this little gem while we were in line. if you look closer you will notice that her "fuggs" (fake uggs) are on the wrong feet. poor thing......
just a cute shot of papa and jude. did i mention i love the picture my camera takes?
after about 10 minutes in line all jude wanted was to held, and ONLY by mama. i was totally fine with it except for being 8 months pregnant it didn't last long. so we found a nice fence to sit on and we snuggled and sang songs. he also told me it was bright and needed my glasses. love him.

finally on the sleigh out to see the elk
there about 700 elk this year at hardware ranch. dem are cute!
jude had had enough at this point but was able to point out the elk poop and say "beans!". maybe next year he will enjoy it more. (yes, my face is getting huge, love that side effect)
like my ponytail? things have been a bit crazy and i haven't had time for a haircut. good news is that i can donate that bad boy to locks of love when i get it cut on thursday.

can't forget to mention the moose we saw on the way up there. don't tell anyone but i like moose better than elk.

You weren't kidding about the ponytail! I am so glad you bought that hat for Jude. And I am also glad you put this post up, because when you mentioned over IM on monday that you were going there, I think there was a typo and you said the elf refuge. For the past 2 days I have been so confused and wondering what the heck an elf refuge was. =D
Okay...I laughed really hard about the ELF refuge! Now that's funny! Looks like fun...maybe more fun on a day when 900 people didn't have the same idea???
